Shabbat Morning Study

Dear Friends

I'm looking for suggestions for Shabbat morning study. Someone has suggested reading and discussing the Book of Leviticus.  I've done this before and there can be much to talk about regarding the development of Judaism.  Also, I have done a series on the Gospels and the related Jewish stories.  We might also consider having participants prepare presentations for the group.  I'm very interested in your suggestions.  My e-mail address is sylvinwolf@comcast.net

Temple Management System - Rakefet
As previously noted in this column, Rakefet our Temple Management System has been installed on the new NJC computer and the management team, namely Barbara Bertman, Susan Hill and Richard Berenson are diligently working to get the data updated and the financials into the database.  But we need help from you, the membership to supply us with accurate data.  As you know, changes of address, phone numbers, email addresses and there are incorrect dates for yahrzeits, birthdays and anniversaries.  As it turns out, the only person who know that the database information is in error, is that member.  Therefore, if you know that something is incorrect,  please notify our Recording Secretary, Barbara Bertman with the correct information preferably by email to avoid mistakes. And by the way, please update your email address because more and more, we are depending on email to contact members. 

Caring Committee

We are in the process of forming a Caring Committee to 

provide service to members of NJC.  The committee will 
determine the scope of its activities.  Twelve people 
have signed up. If you are interested, call Rabbi Wolf at 
793-7411 or email to sylvinwolf@comcast.net.  A 
planning meeting will be scheduled after the membership 
has a chance to respond to this notice.

Rabbi Wolf Visits & Calls
Rabbi Wolf visits and calls our sick members and those in need.  When anyone is hospitalized or confined to home or a facility, please honor their privacy and request permission to notify Rabbi Wolf .  Members are encouraged to contact Rabbi Wolf in time of need. (793-7411 or email to sylvinwolf@comcast.net)

Jewish Pastoral Care Booklets

Rabbi Wolf announced that we received a gift of booklets from 

Jewish Family and Children's Service. These are in a rack in the 

entry hall and will be available free-for-the taking.

Choir Schedule

The Choir will sing on the first Friday night of the month, which is October 5.  Be there to hear our members, Alla and Jane as they sing a wonderful medley of beautiful songs.
